Akie Iwai will once again join her twin sister, Chisato, in the field at Erin Hills as both were inside the top 75 points leaders in the Rolex Women's Rankings as of March 24. Akie nearly claimed her first LPGA Tour title in February at the Honda LPGA Thailand, posting a 61 in the final round to finish one stroke back of winner Angel Yin. Akie posted three wins and two seconds during the 2023 season on the Japan LPGA, and added three more victories in 2024.
